As per the report in PTI, Song Joong’s agency shared that the couple, Song Joong Ki and Katie Louise Saunders, are expecting their second child. Their agency also quoted, “Song Joong-ki and his wife are pregnant with their second child. It is difficult to confirm the timing of birth and the gender of the child as these are private matters.”
On January 30, 2023, Song Joong Ki announced the news of his already being married to his British-Colombian girlfriend Katy Louise Saunders, a former actress who was pregnant with their first child, through his fan café.
SJ K said, “I have promised to spend the rest of my life with Katy Louise Saunders, who has cheered me on, cherished me, and spent precious time with me. She has a kind heart and lives her life passionately. She is a wise and wonderful person whom I respect, and thanks to her, I am becoming a better person.”
SJK and Katy did not have a grand wedding ceremony but just registered their marriage and shared the news with their fans via social media.
Recalling the day when they tied the knot, Song Joong-ki said, “That day, I registered our marriage and went straight to the script reading and gosa (a traditional Korean ritual to pray for good luck when starting a big event) site for the film ‘My Name is Loh Kiwan.’ Katy and I had a late dinner together after finishing work. That day was hectic.”
A year later, they together welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on June 14th, at a hospital in Rome.
Song Joong Ki is extremely private about his personal life. However, when his first child was born last year, the actor shared a rare glimpse of the little one with a heartwarming note to fans. “I finally met my baby here in Rome, my wife’s hometown. He is a healthy son. I am so grateful that both the baby and mom are healthy and happy, and I am taking care of my family very happily,” he said when he welcomed his child.
“I think this is the most precious gift that has come to my wife and me, whose biggest dream has been to have a happy family for the rest of our lives. I think this good day has come thanks to the support of many people. Thank you,” he added.
In June 2023, the actor’s agency, HighZium Studio, confirmed the news that Song Joong Ki would welcome his first child, a son. This time around, the Descendent of the Sun star has refrained from sharing the gender of his second baby and his wife’s due date.
