Today, meditation is the most effective way to keep one’s life in balance. Being with oneself not only harmonizes the body, mind, and spirit but also nourishes them.
Our body is made up of five elements: earth (Dharti), water (water), fire (Agni), air (Vaayu), and space (Aakash), and the imbalance in these five elements affects our personality.
Each element has its unique influence on us that helps in balancing our energy system (subtle body system). But our negligence and sometimes ignorance create imbalances in the system therefore restoring the balance in the elements can make your meditation more effective.
In our previous article, we talked about Jal Tatva. Today let us know about how the Earth element affects our life.
Why is Dharti (Earth) tatva important in meditation?
In the sacred texts, Earth is called Mother because it has given birth to everything necessary for evolution on Earth.
At the same time, a mother in the family is the first guru to her child, and so is Earth’s Guru-tva-akarshan Shakti (gravitational force), which loves and disciplines at the same time.
“Dharti tattva” like a mother, plays a crucial role in grounding and stabilizing our inner energies. She gives us a sense of security and strength and clears the path to spiritual awakening for a Sadhakas.
While Meditating with the Earth element, all the negativity and badhas get abosorbed by Her, empowering the spiritual status of the Sadhaka with a solid and sustainable foundation, essential for overall well-being.
So incorporating the earth element in your meditation practice is essential in achieving a holistic meditation experience along with a balanced, stable, and peaceful life.
Earthing Practices in Daily Life:
Apart from Earth Element meditation, there are some practices if incorporated into daily life can increase the energy absorption capacity of the seeker. Such as:
Touching the Earth:
To awaken the earth element, if possible, do as much meditation as possible while sitting on the ground or floor so that you can feel physically connected to the Earth.
Nature Walks:
If you regularly spend time in nature, this is a good way to make a direct connection to the earth, like walking in a park or on the green grass.
Gardening:
While gardening one can be connected directly with the earth’s living components. Hence it can be a wonderful way to strengthen your connection with the planet.
How to clear Mooladhara Chakra with Earth Element?
Mooladhara chakra (root chakra), located at the base of the spine and is helpful in Kundalini Awakening. The element of the root chakra is Earth; therefore, it is capable of activating the root chakra, and it becomes easy for a yogi to balance it by meditating with the Earth Element.
How to Cleanse Mooladhara with Earth Element:
The beginning of meditation is the Kundalini awakening (Self-Realization). Without awakening the Kundalini, it is impossible to cleanse or balance Mooladhara. So the first thing you have to do is to get your self-realization so that you can know about your subtle system properly. (Click here for self-realization.)
For clearance, wear comfortable clothes and sit down on the floor, as now you have achieved your self-realization, you are ready for Chakra clearance. Keep both of your hands on Mother Earth and with all humility and genuineness, pray:
“Mother Earth, please absorb all the negativities that are creating imbalances in my life.”
“Please remove all of my stress, overthinking, aggression, and anxiety.’
“Mother, please, grant me peace, balance, and gravity.”
Meditate for 10 minutes.
Taking the help of the Earth Element every day for 10 minutes in meditation can nurture the Element’s qualities like endurance, patience, and resilience in your being.
Conclusion:
Meditation is a beautiful journey in which a person comes to know himself and gets deeply connected to cosmic energy. To remain steady in meditation, it is important to have a strong foundation.
Last but not least, meditation with the strength and stability of the Earth, can bring profound depth, and stabilize your journey towards a balanced and stress-free life.
